Product: Process Flow visual for Power BI v2.0.0.12
Related Product Version: 2.0.0.12
Last Updated: February 10, 2025
This release note compares the Process Flow visual v2.0.0.12 with the now deprecated SCvation-Flow-Basic visual v1.2.2.11 and does therefore not include any features that were already available before. Please note that this release is a major breaking change: replacing a SCvation-Flow-Basic visualization with a Process Flow visualization in your report will not carry over any previously set configuration options and may remove fields from the dropzone.
New features
- Added selection support to the built-in variant bar chart: single selection by clicking a bar, multi-selection with ctrl+click, selection of the “Rest” variant, and reset by clicking the background or the selected variant again. Selections can optionally interact with other visuals in the report.
- Significantly improved the readability of process graphs via a new layout algorithm — transition lines rarely overlap, transition metrics rarely overlap with lines or each other, and start/end transitions are marked with dashed lines. Most layout-related configuration options were removed as a result.
- Automatic locale-based formatting for cases, events, timestamps and tooltips; manual regional format options were removed.
- Automatically determined display units for large numbers; the manual configuration option was removed.
Changed features
- Switched to the Power BI formatting pane for visual configuration; most options were renamed/reorganized, with no automatic migration.
- Adjusted allowed fields for timestamp and tooltip dropzones: timestamps no longer allow measures, tooltips now also allow groupings.
- Changed cut-off points for the data limit to always keep 3 variants fully intact, allowing exploration of bigger processes even without a valid license.
- Improved the look and feel of the metric gauges: currently selected values are now also shown as a percentage, and gauge bars are animated.
- Improved text rendering in the graph for some browsers (particularly Firefox).
- Changed the default event name from “__NULL__” to “No event”.
Removed features
- Removed the built-in title (Power BI’s own title/subtitle option should be used instead).
- Removed the event zoom functionality.
Fixed bugs
- Fixed the Power BI context menu not being available on the whole visual.
Other changes
- If no license is available, or the data limit is reached, a notifying label is now displayed to the user.
- Upgraded visual API version to 5.11.
