Related Product Version: 1.3.28.4
Last Updated: January 7, 2025
We are excited to announce the latest version of our Data Slicer Power BI visual! This update introduces a new operation mode (Interval). Apart from the preexisting Text box mode you can now use Data Slicer in Interval mode to easily select a range of values. We also enhanced the formatting options and made important bug fixes to improve your user experience. Key highlights include expanded language support for date and number formats, an improved license management system and some performance and stability improvements.
New features
- New operation mode: Interval — allows input of a range using two fields (From/To values). Supports numeric (whole, decimal), text, date, and datetime columns, with a documented list of supported/unsupported date and datetime formats.
- Language support for Date/Number formats — now supports Arabic (ar-AE, ar-SA), German (de-DE), English (en-US, en-AU, en-CA, en-GB), Spanish (es-ES), French (fr-CA, fr-FR), Hindi (hi-IN), Japanese (ja-JP), Korean (ko-KR), Portuguese (pt-BR, pt-PT), and Chinese (zh-CN). Invalid inputs are highlighted in red, and filters only apply once validated. Placeholder text auto-adapts to the date format and can be overridden manually.
- Improved licensing features — new license manager, license notifications for premium features, an asterisk (*) marking licensed features, and clearer guidance for license key input.
- Customizable background transparency — transparency sliders added for all background color settings.
Formatting settings changes
- Menu restructuring: placeholder settings moved to dedicated sections, parameters reorganized for easier navigation.
- New operation mode toggle (Text box vs. Interval), plus transparency sliders for background settings.
- Enhanced visual and accessibility: “Show…” settings now appear as toggle switches; licensed features marked with an asterisk.
- Renamed “License key” to “License key input” for clarity.
